Our Horses

I needed to find a new dressage competition horse for my teenage daughter, whose beloved young mare died unexpectedly this winter. I saw an advertisement for Junior horses for sale in Denmark online and contacted Ulrik Clemmensen by phone. Very soon after I received a group of videos of quality dressage horses to choose from, with useful descriptions of each as well as show history, breeding, personality, etc. Because of the personal nature of the search, it was important to emphasize that for us the character of the horse was as crucial as the talent. We ride at home with only a handful of horses in our small private facility. We were searching for a sweet, safe horse with natural ability and training to PSG. Because of COVID we were not able to travel to try the horses in person, so my trainer friend and I asked Ulrik many questions and requested thorough vet testing and countless videos (including one in which his young children hung from tree branches to test the mare’s tolerance for surprises on a hack!) until we felt confident enough to go ahead with the purchase. Our beautiful new mare, Mølgaards Rafiness, is settled in now at our farm in Massachusetts. We are already in love with her and feeling optimistic about the competition season to come.
